We have purchased 3 of these over the last few years and have had problems with 2 of them.

I bought this unit in April. I started using it in June when the weather began to get hot. It did not cool off my small bedroom. Frigidaire replaced it via P.C. Richard and it is still not cooling things off and the replacement unit sounds like there is a freight train in the room. The compressor keeps turning on and off every minute and wakes me up all night. The first unit had less noise. Frigidaire had me submit a replacement request and said they would get back to me in 5-10 days. That's too long. It's summer and I'm an older person without help and I cannot keep paying people to put in and take out a window unit. By the time it's fixed, it will be winter. I think P.C. Richard got a bad batch of 6,000 btu units. I'm sorry I bought it.

I have owned a few of this model before, currently 1 still working, this one is as quiet at the ones in the past. Only change i see is the actual unit is a bit smaller from the ones made 5 years ago. Been running for 2 months now and cools the room just as good as the older ones.
