Some of us have dryer vents that are under the unit and not behind the unit. Dryers come with the option to mount a kit to discharge out of the bottom saves space safer due to no pipes coiled behind the unit to trap lint allows the unit to be pushed to the rear wall but these pedestals need to have a perforated slot option cut into them to allow the pedestal to be used in a bottom discharge configuration. I modify the drawer by cutting the slot and building a barrier around the vertical discharge. Sure it voids the pedestal warranty but we get to enjoy the units sitting higher and we dont have to bend over as far to wash and dry clothes and we dont have to worry about a dryer lint fire behind the unit.

I love this pedestal it lifts the dryer up to the perfect height so I dont have to bend over to get clothes out. I am sure everyone uses it for storage but I use it as a clothes hamper its the perfect size. It actually holds way more than you would think. This is a must buy

Great pedestal matches my dryer and is the perfect height for my matching dryer to set a laundry basket right under the door to put fresh clean laundry in a basket rather than getting a arm load of laundry and getting it in the floor and has decent space to put my detergent and other household cleaners in out of sight out of mind
